Frequently asked questions

Lumenear’s fixtures are designed to combat reverberation, which is the unpleasant sonic effect created when sound waves continuously reflect off hard surfaces. Our products use sound-absorbing PET Felt , a soft material that “catches” sound energy. By installing these lights, you reduce the time it takes for sound to decay, resulting in lower noise levels, clearer conversations, and a more optimal acoustic environment.

Lumenear’s acoustic lighting is crafted from PET Felt. This is a highly sustainable, soft, strong, and durable material made from over 60% post-consumer recycled PET bottles. Our eco-friendly production process uses low energy, produces no wastewater or emissions, and the final products are designed to be 100% recyclable at the end of their life.

Acoustic lighting is ideal for any space where concentration, conversation, and acoustic comfort are priorities. This includes busy workspaces like offices and meeting rooms , hospitality venues such as restaurants and reception areas , and open public spaces. They are designed to blend into any interior while keeping the space open and well-lit.

Lumenear offers two main collections. Technical Lighting provides high-performance LED illumination, designed specifically to perfectly illuminate task-focused areas like workstations with low glare and high colour rendering. Decorative Lighting uses standard GU10 or E27 fittings and is focused on creating atmosphere and adding accent lighting, making it ideal for hospitality and reception areas where design and sound absorption are key.

Lumenear’s lighting combines visual and acoustic comfort with a refined design aesthetic. All our acoustic lights are designed in the Netherlands in collaboration with skilled designers. This results in fixtures that perfectly match the architect’s vision, combining form, function, and sustainability in one custom solution that is both visually appealing and functionally effective.
